The Vacancy

MECHANICAL SHIFT ENGINEER

Wates have an excellent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Shift Engineer to join our team on-site at our client's site in Brixworth, Northampton, providing both planned and reactive maintenance to all relevant equipment, controlling and operating of building operational systems, with a clear focus on Energy and the Environment, ensuring compliance to Health & Safety matters in relation to both direct and indirect scope of this role.

About the Role

We are looking for you to have excellent communication and people management skills with a sound judgement and a focus on achieving high standards and quality assurance.

To be successful in the role you will have a working knowledge of the Statutory Regulations and Codes of Practice applicable to the maintenance industry with IOSH Working Safely and a specific up to date qualification relating to the Mechanical/Plumbing trade.

This role operates on a shift rota with no overnight attendance other than if called out; call out rota will be 2 weeks out of eight.

Any offer will be subject to acquiring the relevant clean security checks.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Ensure that all relevant help desk calls (both planned and reactive) are fully completed with sufficient information and are passed back to Manager, Supervisor or Co-Ordinator in accordance with the defined timescales.
  2. Proactively monitor and improve the operation of building systems to ensure optimum performance with a clear focus on energy efficiency and continuous improvement.
  3. First line response for all planned and reactive maintenance on all M&E plant including pumps, motors, drives, AHU's, LV switch gear, PLC's, HVAC.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a single site with multiple buildings and external plant areas.
