Shift Engineer (Mechanically Biased)

Salary: £49,000 + Overtime

Shift: Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm / 2:30pm-11pm

Our client is a leading food manufacturer, supplying to all the major supermarkets, online food delivery companies, wholesale, and restaurant chains. They are looking for a multi-skilled shift engineer, mechanically biased to join their close-knit team.

Role & Responsibilities:

1. Carry out both electrical & mechanical fault finding & repairs on high-speed food production lines, packaging machinery, automation & control systems & associated equipment.
2. Completing structured PPM’s.
3. Worked on motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, sensors, inverters, gearboxes, drives, bearings.
4. PLC – electrical fault finding diagnostics.
5. Ordering spares & parts.
6. Continuous improvement and project work.
7. Upkeep of engineering technical documentation.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

1. Be a multi-skilled engineer, mechanically biased.
2. Must have completed a time-served apprenticeship.
3. Qualified to NVQ Level 3 as a minimum.
4. Ideally worked in food manufacturing.
5. Strong electrical & mechanical fault finding & problem solving skills.
6. Able to work on own initiative and sometimes unsupervised.
7. Must have worked in some form of manufacturing environment.
8. Dealt with high-speed production lines and machinery.
9. PLC – must be able to do electrical fault finding.
10. Worked on hydraulics & pneumatics.
11. Experience of working in a continuous improvement environment.
