Qualifications

Shift Engineer (Electrical Biased)
Suffolk/Norfolk (IP21)

Commutable from: Thetford, Eye, Diss, Norwich, Bungay, Beccles, Stowmarket, Long Stratton

Salary: £45,000 - £48,000 + Overtime

Working Hours: Monday-Friday Double Days (6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm)

Company Overview:

Our client is a leading packaging manufacturer, part of a multi-billion-pound global group, with a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry-leading standards. Due to engineering departmental growth, they are looking for an experienced electrically biased shift engineer.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain all reactive and scheduled maintenance on production machinery
  • Work alongside and support shift engineers for breakdowns on production lines
  • Electrical & mechanical fault finding and repairs
  • Deal with high-speed production, processing & packaging machinery
  • Work with PLCs, automation, control systems, VSDs, AC Drives
  • Ensure electrical safety, LOTO, isolation
  • Installation & commissioning of new machinery

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Multi-skilled engineer - electrically biased
  • At least 5 years experience outside of apprenticeship
  • Completed a formal apprenticeship scheme
  • NVQ or City Guilds qualified to level 3 or higher
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Flexible approach to working hours, cover extra hours & shutdowns as overtime
  • Computer literate - able to use SAP systems
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, VSDs, power transmission drive systems
  • PLC - electrical fault finding skills
  • Steam systems experience would be beneficial
  • Strong health & safety focus
  • Ideally qualified to HNC electrical engineering
