North Manchester - excellent access to M62, M60 and M61 motorways.
GBP30,129 plus excellent overtime rates across the week and weekend.
Office based role with extensive travel across the UK, Europe, and America.
Free Parking.
37 hour working week.

Are you a skilled Mechanical Engineer with a passion for excellence?

My client is looking for a dedicated and experienced Electrical, Instrumental & Mechanical Technician to join their dynamic service team. This exciting role offers the opportunity to work both in the UK and overseas, contributing to the manufacturing, servicing, and maintenance of high-value engineered systems. Overseas visits may occur at very short notice and may span a couple of weeks or more at a time.

You would be working for a global leader in providing engineered systems that enhance process efficiency, optimise energy utilisation, and maximise productivity in resource-intensive industries. Their commitment to innovation and excellence has made them a trusted partner worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:
  • On-Site Service: Execute service and maintenance projects at customer sites in the UK and internationally, ensuring adherence to company standards and timelines.
  • In-House Work: Contribute to the Capital equipment fitting & assembly area when not working off site.
  • Sales Support: Assist the sales team in securing orders.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide expert guidance and solutions within technical areas.
  • Leadership: Mentor and lead a team of service engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability.
  • Customer Interaction: Deliver exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Project Management: Oversee service projects from start to finish, ensuring efficiency and budget compliance.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records, service reports, and project documentation.
  • Training and Development: Stay updated with industry trends and technologies, and train team members as needed.
Requirements:
  • Time-served, fully skilled Mechanical Engineer/Fitter/Service Engineer.
  • Minimum qualification: Level 3 NVQ Diploma.
  • Proficiency in English and Mathematics (equivalent to O level Grade C / GCSE Grade 5 or higher).
  • Essential experience in turning, milling, and drilling.
  • Some electrical knowledge required.
  • Strong report writing skills.
  • Experience in the paper industry and familiarity with paper manufacturing machinery would be an advantage but is not essential.
  • Ability to work on-site and travel as required.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Professionalism and a customer-centric approach.
  • Project management experience is advantageous.
