Team

The ITSO (IT Services and Airline Operations) organisation manages and is accountable for the rapid delivery of the trustworthy, scalable, and efficient IT infrastructure services needed to support the technology critical for easyJet’s future growth plans and ambitions.

As part of the ITSO organisation, the Orchestration team manages and oversees the value delivery of the Infrastructure & Operations Platforms (I&O) and Workplace Products. The ITSO Orchestration team provides the Platform and Product teams with processes, guidance and governance on the following topics:

  1. Service integration.
  2. Value and performance management.

Outside of ITSO, the Orchestration team also works in close collaboration with other IT Domains, such as IT Strategy and Architecture, Change and Portfolio and Digital Safety teams.

Job Purpose

The Service Portfolio Management Specialist manages either the I&O Platforms or Workplace Products portfolio, ensuring seamless delivery planning, service portfolio optimisation, and portfolio alignment within other portfolios. This role entails critical aspects of service portfolio governance and oversight activities that ensure the coordinated delivery of expected outcomes and value within an agreed timeframe.

Job Accountabilities

  1. Prioritising different activities within the portfolio using clear and well-defined criteria and processes for prioritisation according to value – defined collaboratively with the easyJet Portfolio Delivery Leads.
  2. Proactively identifying and flagging critical instances of portfolio dependency and their potential effects on value delivery.
  3. Facilitating the allocation of resources to various initiatives within their portfolio and proactively helping solve conflicts in resource allocation to yield the maximum value for business and IT stakeholders.
  4. Run portfolio governance as defined by the Service Portfolio Lead.
  5. Helping to establish adequate portfolio governance to clarify how portfolio decisions are made and who is accountable for them.
  6. Driving continuous improvement initiatives, such as service improvement activities, automation strategies, process improvements. Establishing standard prioritisation frameworks that help make clear and sometimes difficult decisions. Implementing best practices, and leveraging lessons learned from previous iterations.
  7. Planning their portfolio by facilitating the definition of forward-looking roadmaps and by ensuring that these roadmaps are aligned with expected business and IT outcomes.
  8. Organise the Platform/Product Increment (PI) planning sessions within their portfolio to align delivery roadmaps and manage dependencies within and across teams.

  1. Effectively communicating about their service portfolio and plan and ensuring coordination and alignment with the rest of the IT portfolio.
  2. Collaborating on planning and forecasting I&O Platform or Workplace Product demand and capacity with the I&O Platforms Partner or Workplace Product leadership.

Risk & Compliance Management

Delivery Risk Management

  1. Proactively collaborating with Product and Platforms teams in order to identify risks in the delivery of the service portfolio.
  2. Defining mitigation actions to address major risks to the successful delivery of the service portfolio.

Requirements of the Role

Skills & Experience

  1. Previous experience within an IT department with service portfolio management related tasks.
  2. Experience in IT governance within a large or complex organisation.
  3. Planning & orchestration skills: strategic planning, platform or product lifecycle management, demand management and capacity planning.
  4. Proven stakeholder facilitation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  5. Experienced in managing and delivering through third party suppliers, focusing on business outcomes and employee experience.
  6. Service management skills: experience with incident management, problem management and change management and ideally ITIL certification.
  7. Data-savvy: strong data analysis skills.
  8. Budgeting and financial management skills.
