Service Engineer - Software
A leading organization specializing in customized machinery solutions is looking for a Service Engineer - Software to support its growing customer base. This role offers flexibility for remote work and requires global travel to deliver technical support directly to clients, making it ideal for a professional with expertise in machinery servicing, commissioning, and software engineering.
Location: Remote work option available
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 08:30 to 17:00; Friday, 08:30 to 16:00
Overtime may be required for travel to customer sites.
The Service Engineer will play a pivotal role in the installation, commissioning, and servicing of machinery worldwide, with a focus on software support and customer interaction. Regular global travel is required to ensure seamless machine operation and to provide hands-on support, while remote work will allow for additional flexibility when not on-site.
Education:
Recognized qualification in Electronic, Electrical, or Control Engineering (e.g., BTEC, HNC).
Experience:
Electrical/Software (PLC) engineering background, with certification for 3-phase installations.
Minimum 5 years of experience in machinery servicing, fault-finding, and Siemens/Allen Bradley programming.
Skills:
Proficient in troubleshooting and implementing reliable solutions.
Effective communicator, able to work independently and remotely.
Skilled in MS Office and documentation generation for remote and on-site use.
Degree in electrical/control systems engineering, with or working towards chartered status.
Experience in packaging machinery commissioning, production line validation, and documentation.
Must hold a valid passport, with a willingness to travel globally.
Independent and self-motivated, with the ability to work remotely as needed.
Ability to manage tight deadlines and provide outstanding customer support.
