Service Engineer – Drives – Midlands

Service Engineer – Permanent – Electrical / Controls / Drives – Hybrid – £45-50k + vehicle + bonus + 25 days holiday = OTE £60-70k+

Samuel Frank is recruiting for an experienced Service Engineer to join a systems integrator with a base in Shropshire. The successful Service Engineer will be responsible for the servicing of automation and control related systems and site support for PLCs, AC/DC drive systems & robots.

Key aspects of the Service Engineer role include:

• Electrically biased Service Engineer who is an “all-rounder”
• Diagnosing faults at board level for at least one of the major drive manufacturers
• Reactive site support on customer automation control applications to include PLC, VSDs, robots and SCADA systems
• Good industrial networking experience – Ethernet, Profibus or Modbus
• 24/7 reactive callout support (rostered cover) 1 week in 4
• Workshop testing of engineered automation control systems
• Reading electrical schematic diagrams and PLC software listings
• Accurate marking-up of project schematics and documentation
• Electrically qualified
• Experience of drive control & automation in industries such as metal production & processing, printing, automotive or paper manufacturing
• Site work will be UK & Europe

The company has a base in Shropshire and while the successful Service Engineer isn’t working away, there will be a requirement to be involved with the final stages of testing on the shopfloor and attend meetings. The ideal places to live in and around Shropshire include Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Telford, Stafford, Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Codsall and Penkridge.

The successful Service Engineer could live further afield though in places such as Cheshire, South Manchester, Coventry, West Midlands as far South as Worcester.
