Qualifications

Service Engineer

We are looking for a Service Engineer to contribute towards our Applikon Service team.

You will have the opportunity to make a difference by effectively preventing and remedying malfunctions of delivered and operational equipment, plus maintaining and operating this equipment.

You will maintain good customer relations by demonstrating a professional approach to work and you will collaborate with colleagues, to share, build together and meet our goals.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  1. Providing advice and support to the customer prior to installation of the standard equipment.
  2. Installation and commissioning of standard equipment on site at the customer.
  3. Instructing the customer on the operation of the standard equipment, including software.
  4. Participating in internal or external training.
  5. Instructing and guiding other employees (internal or external) with regard to service and maintenance work.
  6. Preparing quotations for renewals incl parts where appropriate, at least 3 months before contract expiry.
  7. Conduct scheduled service and preventive maintenance visits requested by the customers, as described in the supporting documentation and/or maintenance agreements.
  8. Performing urgent repairs in a fast and efficient manner.
  9. Providing telephone and e-mail support (incl Teams) to customers and colleagues for standard equipment.
  10. Providing administrative, technical and operational support, if desired.
  11. Preparing service reports in connection with repairs, maintenance and service visits.
  12. Preparing and completing Work Orders and Maintenance Reports in a timely manner to submit to Senior Office Manager.
  13. Regular registration of the activities in the ERP system.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

  • Previous knowledge and experience of service/testing of bioreactors devices to the appropriate standards.
  • Previous experience in a maintenance/service engineer environment preferably within the bioreactor industry.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum City & Guilds Level 3 or an equivalent qualification in electrical and/or mechanical engineering.
  • Experience as Field Service Engineer desirable, ideally within the bioreactor industry.
  • Good knowledge of computer hardware and software.
  • Good knowledge of Mechanics, Electrics, Electronics and Hydraulics is desirable.

Your Personal qualities are:

  • Self-motivated.
  • Willingness to travel (territory and within UK, with occasional EU travel for customer related or training purposes).
  • Good contact skills and representative customer-oriented attitude.

To help meet our goals of becoming CO2 neutral by 2025, we travel only if we must. In this role, you will be required to travel up to 80% to visit customer sites and company offices as necessary.
