Job description

Service Engineer / Electromechanical Fitter / Mechanical Engineer required to join a leading electromechanical engineering supplier near Aberdeen.


The Successful Service Engineer / Electromechanical Fitter / Mechanical Engineer will provide service, maintenance, and repair of electric motors, gearboxes, generators, and similar at customer sites in and around Aberdeen as well as offshore when required.


The Service Engineer / Electromechanical Fitter / Mechanical Engineer will have a good electromechanical engineering background in rotating equipment such as generators, pumps, valves, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, compressors, generators, gearboxes, or similar electromechanical / rotating machinery products or systems.

Service Engineer / Electromechanical Fitter / Mechanical Engineer Role:

  1. Will provide service, maintenance, and repair of electric motors, gearboxes, generators, and similar at customer sites in and around Aberdeen as well as offshore when required.
  2. Will also carry out electrical fault finding, testing, and wiring of electromechanical products such as pumps, valves, generators, electric motors, and more, ensuring all components are correctly fitted and operational before delivery.
  3. Will work offshore when required and carry out service and maintenance at customer sites in and around Aberdeen.
  4. Ability to complete technical documentation as work progresses.
  5. To perform other duties as assigned from time to time and liaise with various engineering departments.

Service Engineer / Electromechanical Fitter / Mechanical Engineer Requirements:

  1. Experience as a service engineer, field service engineer, service technician, installation engineer, rotating equipment engineer, offshore engineer, generator engineer, or similar.
  2. Will have electromechanical engineering background, servicing and maintaining rotating equipment such as gearboxes, electrical motors, generators, or similar electromechanical / rotating machinery products or systems.
  3. Will ideally have the experience and ability to conduct testing and control checks on electromechanical machinery.
  4. An engineering qualification, Apprentice trained, HNC, HND, or Degree would be advantageous.
  5. Willingness to commute to Aberdeen and work offshore if required.
