Job description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Rhondda Cynon Taf to assist with the appointment of a Service Engineer on a 1-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £13.47 - £17.64 per Hour

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and diligent Service Engineer to deliver a high-quality diagnostic, repair, installation, and maintenance service for assistive technology equipment. This role involves both in-house and on-site servicing, supporting vulnerable individuals by ensuring their equipment is functional, safe, and suited to their needs.

Responsibilities:

  • To provide a comprehensive effective and efficient customer diagnostic and repair service for Assistive Technology Equipment as defined by their Line Managers and in line with the needs of the business.
  • To test (electrically, mechanically and functionally), service and repair equipment in house including Assistive Technology Equipment (both fixed and portable).
  • To safely use a range of test equipment (including electrical test equipment and load testing weights) in an appropriate manner and in accordance with training provided and manufacturers guidance.
  • To adhere to and follow risk assessments and safe systems of working and to work with the Manager to review.
  • The installation of all types of Assistive Technology Equipment, including those with fixed installations.
  • To record the results and outcomes of any test, service, repair, delivery or collection in both paper and electronic format as directed.
  • To advise and communicate with Line Manager in the most appropriate and timely manner, to ensure the needs of the partners are met.

Essentials:

  • Experience testing and repairing assistive technology or similar equipment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical testing procedures.
  • Awareness of and commitment to safe working practices and dynamic risk assessments.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to record and report accurately.
  • Proven experience using and maintaining test tools and safety equipment.
