Service Engineer

A service engineer position has become available with a leading OEM of high value capital equipment. A fantastic opportunity for either a service engineer or a maintenance engineer who wants to step into the field service industry!

Globally recognized as a true leader in the manufacture and supply of capital equipment, they specialize in providing automation and processing solutions to clients across various manufacturing sectors. They have a head office here in the UK for machine storage, refurbishment, and distribution, as well as a global headquarters in Europe where the machines are built.

This position offers a strong basic salary of up to £45K + door to door, Time & 1/3 overtime during the week, annual salary reviews, company vehicle, 33 days holiday, a fantastic pension, private healthcare, death in service, and lots of other great benefits.

Responsibilities for the role include:

1. Installation, Commissioning, Maintenance & Service of special purpose machinery
2. Routine service and inspection checks to company standard
3. Breakdown maintenance of both mechanical and electrical issues
4. Full installation, setup, levelling, and geometry checks
5. Providing end user support to customers as well as training and demos
6. Report back to the office on any spares or replacement part requirements
7. Use of laptop to complete all service and maintenance reports, and to submit timesheets / expenses

There is a robust training package with this role too, working for an OEM they offer product training in the UK, and overseas in Europe after the probation period is completed.

Nationwide travel is expected at times; however, the business aims to keep engineers as regional as possible, as they've got a great spread of over 15 engineers in the field.

To be successful in this role you will have:

1. Previous experience as a field service engineer or a static maintenance engineer of heavy plant machinery
2. Strong knowledge of mechanical repairs to machinery, along with basic knowledge of working safely with electrical circuits and wiring to swap parts like for like
3. Willingness to travel nationally and show flexibility when required
4. Full clean driver's license
