Job description

Service Engineer - External Site Teams

Location: Nationwide (site-based)
Job Type: Full Time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Engineer to join one of the UK's leading providers in the supply, design, manufacture, installation, and servicing of pumping equipment.

This is a hands-on, field-based role ideal for someone who is mechanically skilled, motivated, and eager to be part of a dynamic external team. As a Service Engineer you'll work closely with an Electrical Site Engineer to carry out installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of pumping and related systems across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Attend installations and breakdowns nationwide, ensuring company policies and standards are upheld.
  2. Service, repair, and assemble pumps and associated mechanical equipment.
  3. Participate in a standby rota, including weekends and bank holidays as required.
  4. Maintain high standards of procedure and actively suggest improvements.
  5. Complete detailed site visit reports, obtain customer sign-off, and submit promptly.
  6. Represent the business professionally on all customer sites, promoting services where appropriate.
  7. Ensure your vehicle is fully stocked and maintained with necessary tools and parts.
  8. Flag any personal training and development needs.
What We're Looking For:
Essential:
  1. Mechanical qualification.
  2. Flexible and adaptable approach.
  3. Strong teamwork skills.
  4. Ability to manage workload and prioritise effectively.
  5. Self-motivated with a proactive, “can-do” mindset.
Desirable:
  1. Confined space training.
  2. First Aid certification.
  3. CSCS card.
  4. SSSTS certification.
  5. Experience in pump servicing or a similar maintenance role.
  6. General industry knowledge.
  7. Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
Additional Information:
  1. This is a site-based role requiring frequent travel across the UK.
  2. Weekend and bank holiday availability is required on a rota basis.
  3. All work must be conducted in line with Health & Safety regulations and company procedures.
  4. Additional duties may be required to meet business needs.
