Job overview

Cardiology Department in LNWUH Trust is on a look out for highly organised, driven and enthusiastic individual to join our team in Service Delivery manager role to manage day to day operational issues and ensure smooth running of Cardiology services.

Cardiology Service runs on all three of our hospital sites and recently opened Ealing Community Diagnostic Centre and delivers high quality Cardiology outpatient, Diagnostic and interventional care to Ealing, Harrow and Brent population.

The post holder will provide strong leadership and a highly visible presence across Cardiology Department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and communication. They will play a key role in enhancing the patient experience by driving service efficiency, maintaining high standards of safety, and upholding best practices in infection prevention and control.

Main duties of the job

  • Day to day operational management of the service.
  • Delivery of quality and activity targets.
  • Management of financial expenditure.
  • Management of activity through robust leave management.
  • Implementation of service specific cost improvement projects.
  • Supporting service specific development and transformation project.
  • Assist in development of service strategy.
  • Foster a culture of clinical integration within the division.
  • Management of administrative processes within the service.
  • Active contribution to the delivery of "patient centered" services.

Person specification

Education / Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Degree level or equivalent qualification, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.

Desirable criteria

  • Professional or management qualification.

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria

  • Experience of managing KPIs (RTT/DM01) and activity and financial targets in acute NHS hospital setting.
  • Experience in designing workflows & processes.
  • Proven track record of meeting significant national targets.
  • Working knowledge of Cerner.

Desirable criteria

  • Knowledge of National Cardiology Audit submissions.
  • Experience of presenting at meetings and events to senior staff.
