We are currently recruiting for an SEO Project Manager!

Department Overview

A key department within Space NK, the marketing department are responsible for creating campaigns that engage current customers and drive new customer acquisition. The department consists of three teams: marketing and events, content marketing and digital marketing.

Role Purpose

The SEO Project Manager reports into the Senior Content Manager, working closely with Content Marketing team and the wider Marketing department.

The role is responsible for growing organic traffic to our website (in the UK and internationally) from a content, technical and off-site perspective. The SEO Project Manager will own the relationship with an external SEO agency who are responsible for delivering an overall SEO strategy. This role will be responsible for the delivery of the SEO strategy by managing the SEO project roadmap; defining timelines across the different teams, executing initiatives, and measuring and sharing success.

We're looking for somebody passionate, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic who can communicate effectively and champion SEO internally to engage the wider business and galvanise key teams including Tech, PR, Trading and Digital Content to deliver value to the business and grow Space NK's organic visibility.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage an external SEO agency ensuring they are delivering a global SEO strategy in line with our business objective of improving SERP visibility and traffic through organic search.
  2. Lead internal execution of the SEO strategy as defined by the agency, working closely with UX, Commercial and Digital Content teams to ensure an optimised experience for users and search engine crawlers.
  3. Manage all SEO projects; creating and managing critical paths to ensure the successful, timely delivery of projects while measuring success and impact to business with the support of the agency.
  4. Work closely with the development team to ensure that technical SEO enhancements are prioritised effectively, mapped and implemented as part of the project roadmap, aligning with the overall SEO strategy.
  5. Work with internal teams to optimise existing on-page content in line with SEO best practices.
  6. Build out new on-page content to drive incremental traffic through search.
  7. Work closely with the wider Content team to maximise opportunities within multi-media, long and short form content to support the overall SEO strategy.
  8. Provide evergreen detailed keyword research based on buyer and search intent as well as competitor analysis (linking back to overall strategy and auditing processes).
  9. Provide the business with SEO insights and keyword research to inform opportunities, campaign planning and content.
  10. Analyse SEO performance, combining key on-site and external data points to indicate performance in line with channel KPIs.
  11. Stay up-to-date with developments and updates, sharing with the wider business and identifying opportunities to inform and amend the project roadmap.
  12. Manage the Content Writer, supporting their development within the business.

Key Skills

  1. Proven experience of implementing and measuring a global SEO strategy, preferably in a retail business.
  2. In-depth understanding of search engines and their ranking factors.
  3. Proven experience of overseeing the production and optimisation of content to support natural search visibility.
  4. A clear understanding of technical SEO with an ability to liaise confidently with the development team on relevant initiatives.
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to clearly communicate complex SEO themes at all levels of seniority and SEO knowledge.
  6. A determination to influence across departments to deliver SEO initiatives and projects.
  7. Excellent use of data to analyse performance and make decisions.
  8. High attention to detail.
  9. Excellent multi-tasking, organisational and project management skills.
  10. A problem-solving approach.
  11. The ability to prioritise and use initiative.
  12. A proactive and flexible approach.
