Salary: £34,293 to £40,345 per annum

Are you ready to create positive change and be part of something bigger? As we embark on the next phase of our 5-year Business Plan, the Wellbeing, Public Health, and Communities Team is seeking passionate individuals to join us.

The role

Essex County Council's Wellbeing, Public Health and Communities (WPHC) team are looking to improve and enhance the work we do with the NHS and other key partners in the five Health and Wellbeing Partnerships across the County: NEE, Mid, West, B&B and South-East.

This role will be tasked to work with the relevant Alliance and associated partners, ensuring that within primary care and other delivery settings, there is a focus on key health risk factors including Smoking, High Blood Pressure, High Blood Glucose, High BMI, High Cholesterol, and Alcohol Use.

The main function of the role will be to co-ordinate and drive work across the Alliance area addressing these six risk factors, increasing uptake of smoking cessation services, reducing smoking rates, increasing levels of physical activity, improving diet, reducing alcohol consumption, and reducing levels of high cholesterol.

You will bring…

  1. Educated to degree level and/or appropriate professional qualification relevant to the field or equivalent by experience, with subject matter expertise in a public health or related service.
  2. Demonstrable evidence of building strong networks within a political environment, working effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, influencing partners, and managing change within a multi-stakeholder environment.
  3. Proven track record of managing and delivering projects successfully whilst demonstrating breadth of thinking.

Please note that the job role requires you to be mobile throughout an operational area. Therefore, the post holder will need to have a driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means.
