EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
As a Senior Water Treatment Scientist, you’ll act as a key member of the Water Treatment Process team, providing day-to-day technical advice to a number of our largest and most critical surface water treatment works. You’ll be looking after process issues at your works of accountability and will also monitor process performance via reviews of works trends, thus ensuring we continue to provide the right quality of water to our customers.
The main site that you will be covering is based in Warwickshire. You will also provide additional support to sites in other areas across the UK. The role will be based both in the office and out on our operational sites at Severn Trent and Hafren Dyfrdwy. As you’ll be travelling between sites, the role comes with a car allowance and you’ll also be part of an out-of-hours standby cover rota.
This is a post to cover maternity leave, initially for 18 months.

This is a Senior level role, so we are looking for someone that is adept at making thorough risk assessments and has the confidence and decision-making skills to work in a reactive, high-pressure environment.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
The post holder will have experience in water treatment processes and issues and the ability to bring solutions to life. Due to the nature of the role being that you are working with many different stakeholders, we will also look for you to have excellent communication and influencing skills.
A full driving licence will be required for the role.
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who is educated to degree level in a scientific discipline and has excellent technical knowledge of water treatment processes. Your ability to prioritise, plan, and deliver outputs to mutually agreed timescales will be a key element. Additionally, having comprehensive IT skills (e.g., Microsoft Systems, SAP, ESCADA) will stand you in good stead along with the ability to interpret trends and understand consequences.
