Job description

Our client in the insurance industry is hiring for a role supporting the design and implementation of a web-based framework that powers a generative AI tool used in investment research. The project plays a key role in supporting long-term strategic development. This position contributes directly to the delivery of user-focused solutions with responsibilities spanning UX strategy, frontend engineering, and collaborative development across teams.

What is in it for you:

Salaried: $80 to $90 per hour.

Incorporated Business Rate: $102 to $108 per hour.

4-month contract with the possibility of conversion to permanent employment.

Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.

Weekday Schedule: 9 am to 5 pm.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the user experience design of a new Gen AI-driven web platform used by investment analysts.
  2. Support and enhance existing applications built with Streamlit.
  3. Propose and evaluate future-state application stacks.
  4. Design and implement reusable frontend components using Angular or similar frameworks.
  5. Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate and optimize APIs.
  6. Conduct rigorous code reviews to ensure high standards and maintainability.
  7. Develop unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to maintain a reliable frontend codebase.
  8. Apply design thinking principles and lead UX strategy discussions within the team.

What you will need to succeed:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  2. 5 to 8 years of experience in UX design focused on internal platforms and user-centered solutions.
  3. Strong frontend development experience using Angular, React, or similar frameworks.
  4. Proven ability to design and implement modular and reusable UI components.
  5. Hands-on experience integrating RESTful APIs.
  6. Familiarity with Streamlit and extending Streamlit applications.
  7. Experience conducting code reviews and following development best practices.
  8. Proficient in writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for web applications.
  9. Skilled with frontend build tools and package managers.
  10. Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
  11. Understanding of investment analyst workflows and the ability to design supportive platforms.
  12. Knowledge of Java frameworks and CI/CD processes is an asset.
  13. Ability to evaluate performance vs. functionality trade-offs in UX design.
