Designed to reach drivers everywhere with our trail-blazing portfolio of personality-rich automotive brands: Carwow, Auto Express, evo, Driving Electric, and Car Buyer.
What started as a simple reviews site is now one of the largest online car-changing destinations in Europe - over 10m customers have used Carwow to help them buy and sell cars since its inception. Last year we grew over 50% with nearly £3bn worth of cars bought on-site, while £1.8bn of cars were listed for sale through our Sell My Car service.
In 2024 we went big and acquired Autovia, doubling our audience overnight. Together we now have one of the biggest YouTube channels in the world with over 1.1 billion annual views, sell 1.2 million print copies of our magazines, and have an annual web content reach of over 350 million.

THE ROLE
carwow is looking for a Senior User Researcher to join our team. Our research team covers all aspects of research and insights, working across the business with a particular focus on the business needs of Product and Marketing.
Research acts as a guiding compass to our day-to-day function, playing a vital role in how carwow plans for the short and long term.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Minimum of 3+ years' experience working in user research. You will know the best practice for gathering qualitative and quantitative research and setting up and executing research projects. It would be great if you have prior knowledge of e-commerce or marketplace platforms.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Planning, designing, and preparing a wide range of research activities in support of the Product and Marketing teams. Work independently on research plans and be able to challenge assumptions and validate problems with data.
- Have an in-depth domain knowledge of the Product. Work closely with stakeholders to understand the requirements of a project. Translate industry and user research and data into user stories, establishing business requirements and writing user acceptance criteria for a task.
- Work directly with stakeholders in scoping work, recruiting test participants, preparing discussion guides, designing test tasks, and moderating research sessions.
- Take ownership and work with international stakeholders from carwow's Munich and Madrid offices. Help to collate user feedback and delegate tasks in measuring customer satisfaction, product/market fit, carrying out customer calls, and understanding how consumers in different markets approach car buying.
- Analyse and synthesise information through writing executive summaries and categorising feedback, then collating them into recommendations. Incorporate and cross-reference learnings from existing research, identifying patterns in research. Write and craft in-depth user personas, telling the story of the user needs when purchasing a car.
- Effectively communicate user research findings to the team and the wider organisation, giving the wider team a strong and empathetic understanding of their users.
- Work closely with Product Managers, Brand and Product Designers, and Developers to help turn research findings into stories and actions that lead to valuable Product features.
REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of user research experience.
- Ability to learn and employ a variety of research methodologies including focus groups, usability testing, user journey analysis and mapping, multivariate testing.
- Understanding of how to measure customer satisfaction and net promoter score.
- A collaborative working style, strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to work well in small group settings as well as independently.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal - a storyteller who can build relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders. Clearly explain the best approach to gather insight for a particular business need.
- Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Display a strong comprehension of the strengths and limitations of the different research methods, inclusive of when and how to apply each in product/market/consumer analysis.
