Senior User Researcher

Zebra People
London
GBP 60,000 - 80,000
Job description

Please apply to this role to be shortlisted for future user research contracts we expect to be going live soon (BUT NOT LIVE YET).

Things are finally starting to warm up again within the User Research market as public sector/government budgets begin to thaw out. This post is for those of you who’d like to get on my radar early, in anticipation of some live roles coming through soon.

These contracts will typically provide meaningful project work for a Government department. You’ll be working on key government policies alongside a high-calibre UX team.

Duration: 6 months (this is usually the standard duration and can often lead to an extension)

Rate: £550-650 per day, INSIDE IR35

Location: Hybrid – you’ll need to come into an office twice a week. They have offices in London as well as other major cities up and down the UK.

We’re looking for out-and-out User Researchers rather than Designers who can do user research.

You’ll also need previous experience working directly for a government agency/departments to GDS standards.

THE ROLE

  • Planning, designing and conducting in-house usability testing sessions to support the design and development of digital services.
  • Leading the usability testing process from developing user recruitment briefs through to test moderation, analysis and report writing.
  • Conducting in-house research to test new product and concept developments (including user requirements gathering and early stage concept and prototype testing, research, and other approaches to ensuring the user need is fully understood in the service design).
  • Working closely with designers and developers to turn user data into actionable product/service requirements that feed into prototype development, and influence product direction.
  • Running co-design and research workshops with internal stakeholders to explore goals, and share research findings and insights with project teams.
  • Presenting findings and related design/business recommendations and customer insights to senior decision makers.
  • Designing and running usability studies on paper and digital prototypes and live sites and devices to improve branded digital services and products – may include usability testing, card sorting exercises, ethnographic research, heuristic and expert reviews, and other research as identified.
