Senior User Researcher

Our well-established client is currently looking for an experienced Senior User Researcher to join their delivery team on a 6-month initial contract, based in Exeter on a hybrid basis.

A Senior User Researcher works with agile teams to create and evolve multiple or complex products and services. They represent the voice of our diverse range of users by defining user-centred design methodologies to deeply understand their needs. The Senior User Researcher will form part of the dedicated User Experience team, championing UX best practice within projects to help build a user-focused culture.

Responsibilities:

1. Work with minimal support and can influence and mentor others
2. Recruit participants for user research and schedule research for a product/service
3. Plan and lead user research activities across multiple or complex products and services
4. Conduct user research to provide insights that inform the creation or iteration of Met Office products and services
5. Lead the analysis and synthesis of user research findings using a range of methodologies and techniques
6. Present findings and user insights to a wide variety of senior stakeholders, teams, and users to help align and inform decision-making
7. Support Product Managers with insights to prioritise UX resources efficiently
8. Build user-centred practices in multidisciplinary agile teams
9. Supervise and develop other user researchers to assure and improve research practice
10. Align user research activities with business needs to inform service propositions
11. Recommend the best tools and approaches to understand user needs
12. Be an active member of the UX practice to help embed and grow a user-centred culture across the organisation
13. Mentor other UX colleagues who have an interest in user research
14. Support the UX Lead in helping to drive a user-focused culture
