Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Linux/Unix Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing level 3 technical support and engineering expertise in Linux/Unix environments. This role requires a strong foundation in software, hardware, and networking principles, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide level 3 technical support for Linux/Unix systems, resolving complex technical issues efficiently.
Troubleshoot and maintain software applications commonly used by customers on various operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
Demonstrate a solid understanding of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and manage IT infrastructure components, including servers, storage systems, and network devices.
Leverage expertise in Private and Public Cloud infrastructure, VMWARE, and backup and disaster recovery strategies.
Administer Active Directory and ensure seamless integration with Linux/Unix environments.
Implement cybersecurity principles and best practices to ensure network security, access control, and vulnerability assessment.
Qualifications:
Level 3 Technical Support Engineering, time served apprenticeship, or equivalent relevant experience.
Proficiency in troubleshooting technical issues related to software, hardware, and networking.
Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and common software applications.
Familiarity with networking protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
CCNA certification.
Knowledge:
Excellent understanding of Private and Public Cloud infrastructure.
VMWARE.
Server and Storage hardware.
Backup and Disaster Recovery strategies.
Active Directory.
Skills:
Networking Proficiency: Configuring and troubleshooting LANs, WANs, routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
