We are CCP Games London, a dynamic team working on a brand-new sci-fi sandbox FPS game, EVE Vanguard.

Our focus is to create an immersive sandbox experience featuring stunning visuals and intuitive gameplay, utilizing player feedback from our passionate fans and adding ground-breaking connections with EVE Online.

We are looking for a talented Senior UI/UX Designer to join our team and get hands-on building an innovative user experience for our game.

Job Overview

As a Senior UI/UX Designer, you will be responsible for collaborating with our design, art, and engineering teams to create interfaces that enhance gameplay, guide/teach players, and support the game’s evolving EVE narrative. Your work will ensure that players are fully immersed in the futuristic world we are building.

This role reports directly to the Lead UI/UX Designer.

Your Tasks

1. Solve design challenges that span multiple areas of the game (screen space and diegetic HUD, in-game menus, front-end menu systems), providing authoritative advice and proposing solutions that impact the overall gameplay experience.
2. Provide information/docs as required to support artists and engineers who will implement your designs.
3. Communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams (including stakeholders and leadership), ensuring alignment on design vision and technical requirements.
4. Provide and receive constructive feedback, guiding peers and team members while remaining open to improvement suggestions.
5. Develop new concepts, methods, and techniques to improve efficiency and effectiveness across the UI/UX pipeline.
6. Liaise with members of the UI discipline and production to help estimate and plan upcoming work.
7. Work with product teams to apply player feedback/research/analysis, recommending innovative design improvements that push the boundaries of current UI/UX standards.
8. Work with a high level of independence, seeking guidance only on the most complex or ambiguous issues while providing regular progress updates to production and leadership.

Your Profile

1. Expertise in UI/UX design with mastery of key concepts, principles, and methods related to designing for video games, particularly multiplayer/FPS genres.
2. Experience working directly in Unreal Engine; using UMG to layout widgets, Blueprint scripting to bind UI logic and creating UI materials to achieve high fidelity.
3. Strong communication skills, able to clearly articulate design rationales, listen actively to others and integrate feedback effectively.
4. Proficient in design software such as Figma, Adobe XD (or similar), with experience creating and maintaining interactive wireframe flows.
5. Understanding of how UI should be integrated into engine, knowledge of when to use textures, materials, or procedural approaches.

Desirable Skills

1. Experience working on multiplayer or live-service games.
2. Knowledge of motion design or animation for UI elements.
3. Familiarity with accessibility standards and practices in game design, particularly for multiplayer games.
