THE ROLE:
As the Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner (STIC) in London, you will lead an experienced locally engaged team and other Austrade staff to advance Australia’s economic and business interests and develop highly valuable business and government networks in the United Kingdom and Ireland. You will contribute to Australia’s global reputation by enhancing economic prosperity and promoting Australian capability in the region.

You will represent Austrade and Australia in a range of high-level corporate and government settings, seeking commercial opportunities where demand can be matched with Australian businesses, expertise, products, and services ensuring Australia remains globally competitive.

You will advance Australia’s strengths as a highly attractive destination for investors through identification and attraction of UK and Irish companies seeking to establish or expand their business in Australia. Leveraging the badge of government to establish trusted relationships, you will build strategies for engagement and assist Australian organisations to access opportunities in the respective markets. As the senior leader of a culturally diverse team, you will be a confident, persuasive leader with a track record of successfully leading teams in complex operating environments, engaging teams to improve performance and delivery.

ELIGIBILITY:
Australian Citizenship: Our successful candidate must be an Australian citizen.
Language Proficiency: Our successful candidate must be fluent in written and spoken English.
Security Clearance: Our successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 2 security clearance.
Overseas Posting Eligibility: Internal candidates must meet the eligibility requirements outlined in Austrade’s People Policy – Overseas Postings & Return to Australia (A-Based Employees).
