Job Title: Senior Town Planner
Location: Guildford
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Are you an experienced Town Planner looking to take the next step in your career? Do you have a passion for shaping the built environment and working on a diverse range of planning projects? If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Town Planner to join a leading consultancy in Guildford.

About the Role:

As a Senior Town Planner, you will play a pivotal role in managing and delivering planning applications, conducting site assessments, and providing expert advice to clients. You'll have the chance to work on a variety of exciting projects, ranging from residential developments to commercial schemes, ensuring compliance with planning policies and regulations while helping clients achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage planning applications from inception to approval.
  2. Provide high-quality planning advice and support to clients.
  3. Liaise with local authorities and stakeholders to resolve planning matters.
  4. Contribute to the preparation of planning reports, appraisals, and strategies.
  5. Manage a portfolio of projects, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
  6. Support junior members of the team and assist in their professional development.
  7. Stay up-to-date with the latest planning legislation and policies.

Skills and Experience:

  1. A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline (RTPI accredited).
  2. MRTPI status or working towards it.
  3. Proven experience in managing planning projects, ideally within a consultancy or local authority.
  4. Strong knowledge of UK planning policies and procedures.
  5. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  6. A proactive and client-focused approach to problem-solving.
  7. Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure.
