Carrington West are pleased to be working with a dynamic and forward-thinking multidisciplinary consultancy based in Birmingham. Their team of 30 talented professionals includes planners, urban designers, landscape architects, and architects, all dedicated to creating innovative and sustainable solutions for our clients.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Town Planner to join a team and play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality planning services to our clients. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 plus years post-chartership experience and a proven track record in managing complex planning projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage a variety of planning projects from inception to completion, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
2. Provide expert advice to clients on planning policy, legislation, and procedures.
3. Prepare and submit planning applications, appeals, and other planning documents.
4. Conduct site appraisals, feasibility studies, and environmental assessments.
5. Liaise with local authorities, stakeholders, and other relevant parties to negotiate planning permissions and resolve planning issues.

Requirements:

1. Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or equivalent.
2. Minimum of 2 plus years of post chartership experience in town planning.
3. Strong understanding of UK planning legislation, policies, and procedures.
4. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
6. Proficiency in relevant planning software and IT skills.
