We are looking for a dedicated and dynamic Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to join our Urgent and Emergency Care Therapy Team for a 5-month position, working within our new Frailty Unit.
In this role, you'll work as part of our Frailty Intervention Team, where you will:
- Assess, treat, and support frail patients, helping them achieve and maintain independence.
- Contribute to preventing hospital admissions and supporting complex discharges.
- Collaborate across multiple units, including the Emergency Department, Emergency Assessment Unit, and Short Stay Ward.
- Provide supervision and mentorship to Band 5 OTs and Physios, support student education, and assist in managing the daily operations of the team.
- Engage in service development projects aimed at improving patient care and team effectiveness.

QualificationsEssential- BSc (Hons) or Graduate Diploma in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
- Registration with HCPC
Desirable- Membership of the College of Occupational Therapists
Further TrainingEssential- Attendance at relevant clinical post graduate courses taught often at modular Masters level
- Practice Placement Educators training
Desirable- APPLE Accreditation training
ExperienceEssential- Completion of postgraduate junior rotation to include a rotation in medicine
- Broad understanding of occupational therapy process and frameworks.
- Experience of audit and service review
- Experience of supervising other staff and/or students
- NHS experience including knowledge of policies and procedures
Desirable- Evidence of contribution to clinical education of less experienced staff, assistants and students
