SUMMARY
Reporting to the Head of Product and Technology, the Senior Technical Product Manager is fully responsible for strategic planning, development, and management of the PCI SSC Mobile and Device product family lifecycle. This role is anchored by a very strong solution-oriented mindset, based in PCI SSC's foundational strategy fulfillment.
This includes leading the development and maintenance of the product family multi-year roadmap in conjunction with internal and external stakeholders across short-, mid-, and longer-term horizons. The Senior Technical Product Manager will conduct ongoing market analysis to assess changes in the payment security environment, including new threats and advancements in technologies.
This role will lead a cross-functional product delivery team to ensure all components of the product family are addressed as part of its go-to-market strategic plan, including standards development and supporting programs. Further, this role will develop and maintain metrics and delivery health reporting that will provide transparency toward planning and delivery issues and risks related to the product family go-to-market plans.
This role requires exceptional communication skills, professionalism, positivity, and the strong ability to build, foster, and maintain external stakeholder relationships. This includes the Global Executive Assessor Roundtable (GEAR), Roadmap Roundtable Group (RRG), Technical Guidance Group (TGG), and other stakeholder groups that are associated with the Mobile and Device Product Families.
This is a 100% remote role that is highly collaborative. You will be frequently engaged with Council staff and will contribute to various meetings throughout the week, primarily during US business hours.
What you will be doing in this role:
- Engage in strategic thinking and creative problem-solving to advance the Council's goal of payment security.
- Orchestrate the product family multi-year roadmap with internal and external stakeholders across short-, mid-, and longer-term horizons.
- Steer a cross-functional product delivery team, including standards development and supporting programs, such as training, quality, and certification oversight aligned to a common go-to-market plan.
- Operationalize processes to generate clarity and awareness of the team's input and outbound dependencies.
- Engage in thought leadership as a liaison between the Council and external stakeholder groups.
- Plan and facilitate external stakeholder activities, such as workshops and meetings across GEAR, RRG, TGG, and other stakeholder groups, as necessary.
- Partner with PCI SSC Work Group Chairs to facilitate working group meetings to address the product family roadmap deliverables.
- Create and manage product family metrics to guide product development and measure success.
- Develop and maintain product family delivery health reporting focused on roadmap milestone progress and product family metrics.
- Participate and represent the Council in various forums, including PCI SSC external stakeholder groups, such as GEAR and RRG, and task forces, board meetings, and industry events.
- Communicate and collaborate regularly with other teams across the organization to ensure consistent implementation of organizational processes.
- Maintain awareness and knowledge of industry security trends, best practices, and standards.
- Ensure continuous process improvement to help meet organizational outcomes.

What you will need for this role:
- Bachelor's degree or related experience.
- At least 7 years in payment product/service/project/program management or global security standards development.
- At least 3 years of experience with payment technologies or infrastructure.
What Makes you Stand Out:
- Familiarity with the payment industry and experience working with PCI SSC Community. This includes an understanding of industry trends, regulations, best practices, security standards, and payment technology.
- A strong background in areas such as cyber security, payment security, or fraud risk management.
- Hands-on experience with implementing, managing, and/or assessing to one or more PCI security standards (e.g., P2PE, SPoC/CPoC, PIN, PTS POI/HSM, etc.).
The starting minimum salary for this role is $140,000 USD annually, plus bonus. The final compensation will be based on skills, experience, geographic location, and other relevant factors.
