Summary of Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer to work within the Raytheon Assured Position Navigation and Timing Systems team, part of the wider Systems & Products business unit, to produce Digital GPS Anti-Jam Systems and Alternative Navigation Solutions for the military market.

The role will provide support across Raytheon’s range of APNT products, providing Systems Engineering expertise across the product lifecycle, from requirements capture, analysis, design through to testing, qualification, and certification activities.

Main Duties:

Primarily supporting our flagship products, this role will provide support to the System Design Authority and Systems Engineering Team leadership for customer support, production support, and obsolescence maintenance of our established products. Responsibilities include managing project requirements, generating technical documentation, conducting systems analysis and design work, and participating in technical design reviews.

Additionally, the role involves supporting the Systems Team in generating bid proposal material and submissions in response to customer requests, as well as defining and designing support for our next generation products. The candidate will be required to undertake development studies and investigation activities involving product performance and interfacing with various internal stakeholders.

The role will involve working in a highly technical environment, supporting the team as well as working autonomously, including laboratory work for product testing. Taking on complex challenges and producing solutions that adhere to company processes in a timely manner is essential. A successful candidate will be comfortable integrating into a large team to accomplish their goals.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential:

  • Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle from requirements through to project completion.
  • Experience with generation of technical documentation at all levels.
  • Understanding of policies, practices, and procedures, with the ability to communicate these to the team.
  • Ability to work in a team and perform to project directives.
  • Ability to work autonomously, with limited oversight from Team Leaders and Management.
  • Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics) or similar industry certification.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of GNSS systems and receiver characteristics.
  • Experience with the IBM Rational DOORS toolset.
  • Experience with RF (including Antennas) and Digital Hardware design and test.
  • Algorithm development incorporating modelling experience in MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Experience with SysML or UML in a Systems Engineering environment.
  • Experience with configuration management systems.
