Senior Subsea Support Engineer

Reports to: Technical Lead

Role:
Support the company in their business growth ambitions by providing on-site installation, technical support and guidance to aid clients with conducting remote installations and providing technical service support for the clients installed base whilst seeking opportunities for promoting new business.
Provide onshore and offshore diagnostics, fault finding, evaluation and repair services for electrical condition monitoring for the clients operating Subsea Production Control Systems internationally.

Responsibilities:

1. Specific Responsibilities of the Role
   1. Lead fault diagnostics on electrical and communication associated with subsea control systems using a combination of methodical data analysis from previous installs and documented experience as well as interpretation of offshore in-field data.
   2. Mobilize at short notice for installation and commissioning of electrical condition monitoring equipment on onshore/offshore global O&G installations with preparation of associated work packs, commissioning and test procedures for electrical condition monitoring equipment.
   3. Conduct electrical integrity testing on subsea equipment (including insulation resistance, TDR measurements power measurements etc.) in onshore and offshore locations.
   4. Generate concise, accurate documentation with an appropriate level of information (for pre and post installation and testing activities) in accordance with company procedures for report writing.
   5. Conduct onshore and offshore site surveys (where appropriate) prior to equipment installation. Mobilize offshore at short notice ensuring appropriate risk assessments, procedures and authorisations are undertaken and approved.
   6. Interpret condition monitoring data from client installations and produce summary status reports for clients with recommendations where necessary.
   7. Work collaboratively as a key member of the wider product and service delivery team and in support of business development to determine the optimum technical strategy to support our clients needs for our products and services.
   8. Work cross-functionally to ensure technical in-field experience and findings are cascaded to the Product Owners and other key stakeholders.
   9. Support client technical training presentations and product demonstrations to promote the Company's products and service offerings.
   10. Deliver post-installation lessons learned presentations to the product and service delivery team and key stakeholders from supply chain, and engineering to ensure these lessons learned are considered in future opportunities.
   11. Ensure that technical product and service delivery related non-conformances and improvement initiatives are supported and actioned in a timely manner.
   12. Undertake ad-hoc business activities as required.
   13. Undertake obligations in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 as detailed in the Operations Manual.

   1. Undertake obligations in accordance with the clients ISO accreditations from time to time, e.g. ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO27001, as detailed in the Operations Manual. Recognise requirements for Industry Standards as relevant to work scope.
   2. Adopt a pro-active approach to company and client QHSE initiatives and objectives.
   3. Ensure best practice is followed to achieve maximum levels of safety, quality and efficiency and take recognition of the environment and environmental impacts in all activities and decisions.
   4. Adopt a continuous improvement approach to work ethic that non-conformances and improvement initiatives are acted upon and supported/closed out in a timely fashion.

1. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
   1. Frequent travel to customer/supplier premises and/or other company sites, as and when required in line with business needs.
   2. Offshore working, as and when required.

Candidate Requirements:

1. Degree qualified or equivalent in a suitable discipline and/or proven work experience in line with the skills or knowledge required for the role.
2. Offshore survival training certificate (must be attainable if not currently held).
3. Offshore medical certificate (must be attainable if not currently held).
4. Experience of working in a client-facing technical role.
5. Experience of Oil & Gas Industry working practices, including electrical commissioning, testing and fault finding.
6. Understanding of subsea production control systems and configurations and detailed knowledge of electrical and electronic components.
7. Competence in working on multi-discipline technical tasks including electrical, electronic, basic networking and software elements.
8. Experience of working in the Oil & Gas industry is essential.
9. BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edn).
10. Good Wiring Husbandry.
