Purpose of the Role:

The Senior Subsea Project Engineer will be reporting to the Subsea Engineering Manager and will be responsible to carry-out and coordinate the completion of various Projects, from basic design to final commissioning. They will be involved in all technical, engineering and commercial parts of the Project.

The Senior Subsea Project Engineer shall have strong experience in SPS and Subsea XT design. They will be accountable for the delivery of safe, efficient, reliable, and compliant operations for subsea systems installed in one or more of our operating assets and in line with relevant codes and standards.

Depending on the project assigned, the Senior Subsea Project Engineer may manage a team, as applicable, of Subsea Engineers/ Specialists responsible for various functions within the Subsea team as well as several external vendors/suppliers.

The individual is expected to be accountable to coordinate all technical, engineering, commercial and project control parts during the development of Subsea projects. The role will require international travel to interface with the subsidiaries.

The position is based in London.

Job Function:

Main Responsibilities and Activities (as listed but not limited to the following):

1. Support to Production / Operation team
   
   • Provide troubleshooting engineering and execution support for existing subsea equipment.
   • Define the execution plan for the identified subsea intervention and coordinate the execution offshore.
   • Actively work in creating and building on the in-house knowledge of subsea intervention.
   • Develop task plans for the subsea projects.
2. Design of the facilities:
   
   • Safe design of the facilities compliant with the company policies and international standards & regulations.
   • Design ensuring operability, maintainability and reliability of the facilities.
   • Overall coordination and consistency of project activities: coordination of interfaces.
3. Overall control of project schedule.
4. Overall control of project costs:
   
   • Preparation of budget.
   • Follow-up of commitments, expenses and cost forecast.
5. Respect of statutory requirements.
6. Management of contractors.
7. Prepare close-out report and lesson learnt sessions for all work executed offshore.

Other Activities (as listed but not limited to the following):

1. Coordinates with Company and other entities of the project.
2. Ensures accurate reporting of activities.
3. Maintains good relationship with internal and external parties.
4. Support and mentor less experienced team members.
5. Ensure a good and up to date system status with Subsea Group team.

HSEQ responsibilities:

• Support and enforce Trident Energy’s HSEQ objectives and directives.
• Risk Prioritization of Area identified risks and mitigation measures.
• Participation in the HAZID/HAZOP/Risk Assessments & provide input from Subsea Operations point of view.
• Promote HSEQ awareness of workforce and contractors and ensure that HSE is given the highest priority.
• Listen to, evaluate any project team member’s concerns; ensure that potential failures, weaknesses and hazards are immediately addressed and reported.
• Conduct alignment sessions for project management team members with respect to objectives.

Essential Skills:

In-depth technical & engineering knowledge of Subsea Systems (mainly XTs and SPS systems plus Structures, Controls, Umbilical, Risers and Flowlines) in Deepwater Projects in all project phases (design, tender, construction/testing and installation).

IT Skills: AutoCAD, MS Suite.

Qualification & Experience:

• Master of Science Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, with 7+ years relevant experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Ideally from one of the following specialties: Subsea Production System, Subsea Well intervention, Subsea Flowline, Subsea Integrity Management, Subsea Flexible flowline/Risers, Subsea Control System, Subsea ROV operations, Subsea Construction.
• Good communication (people) skills.
• Exposure to subsea intervention work, familiar with work class ROV operations and associated standards ROV tools used.
• Fluent English.
• Experiences from both contractor and operator side are welcomed.
