Senior Structural Engineer

Lead large projects worth up to £200 million for a fantastic consultancy.

Position: Senior Structural Engineer
Location: Winchester

We are actively seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to deliver a wide range of engineering projects. The ideal candidate will bring a positive and practical approach to engineering while providing leadership to enhance the technical expertise of the team. The project portfolio includes a diverse range, such as large developments, commercial, car distribution centres, MoD, education, and retirement villages projects across the UK, valued at up to £200 million.

Key Responsibilities:

1. A client-facing role, ensuring projects meet quality, budget, and time requirements.
2. Monitor the financial performance of projects and report resource needs.
3. Lead design projects, from outline schemes to detailed design.
4. Structural analysis and design using EuroCode design codes.
5. Conduct checks on calculations, drawings, specifications, and other project deliverables.
6. Supervise and mentor junior engineers and apprentices.
7. Undertake building assessments in line with the Building Safety Act.
8. Manage intrusive investigations and site visits.

Qualifications & Experience:

1. Chartered or nearly Chartered Engineer status (IStructE or ICE).
2. Relevant degree in structural engineering or a related field.
3. Proven experience in structural design (concrete, steel, masonry, timber).
4. Familiarity with finite element design, BIM, and 2D/3D design packages.
5. Experience in running projects, client-facing roles, surveys, and site inspections.
6. Strong communication and report-writing skills.
7. Valid UK driving licence.
