The Role

We are looking for a Senior Strategist to become the voice of the consumer, a collaborative thinker and category expert on two of our most important accounts – Toyota and British Gas.

This role offers the opportunity for a Senior Strategist to take a lead role in developing the strategic insights that will underpin marketing & comms ideas, working closely with the client to understand their business, market and consumer, and identify opportunities and key touchpoints across customer journeys.

Confidence and an interest in research will be essential, along with enthusiasm for translating your learnings into focused and inspiring briefs for our creative teams and a desire to work collaboratively with them as a partner. Helping them to develop brilliant and imaginative ideas that are true to insight, research and have the potential to address the underlying needs for the client’s business. Finally, an interest in getting to grips with customer journeys, to identify key touchpoints and opportunities for creativity and improved messaging.

You will work into a Strategy Director who will help to manage and develop your skills, as you take on take on day-to-day strategic responsibilities on the accounts.

Key attributes, interests and skillsets

  • Curiosity about exploring the products and services offered and being developed by our clients, to be able to articulate understand of them internally to client services teams and creative teams.
  • Can keep the big picture strategy in mind (e.g. our clients transformation plans, roadmap for their business, the lifetime value of customers etc) and articulate how it relates to day-to-day strategic tasks and the work we develop for them.
  • Understand how important it is to guide and nurture creative teams towards solutions that address the client’s challenges in their brief. Able to give and receive feedback that supports the development of the creative work.
  • Interested in human behaviour, social trends, and how ideas influence people.
  • Enjoy diving into a research challenge, to understanding as much as you can about a brand, its category, its challenges, its competitors, and how your client’s brand helps further their business. Able to simplify this research into useful strategic thinking.
  • Numerate and able to interpret different sources of data and statistics.
  • Has a results mindset – wants to stay on top of results to inform further testing and optimise our work
  • Unafraid to ask questions and look for new insights.
  • Strong and persuasive communicator.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience (and interest) in automotive and/or service brands (e.g. energy, telecoms, insurance etc) is highly favoured.
  • Experience working in an integrated way, with several agency partners working collaboratively is highly favoured.
