Senior Storage & Backup Engineer | Financial Services - Electronic Trade House - 12 Month Contract - Inside IR35 - London - On-site/Hybrid

Storage & Backup Engineer with hands-on expertise whilst also leading a team is urgently needed for a 12-month contract on-site with a leading Financial Services customer within the Electronic trading world. You will be a Senior Engineer but also have leadership responsibilities and be able to guide the business through various Storage Migration projects and offer expertise around automation and Storage tooling. The core project will be migrating to Hitachi based Storage.

Successful candidates will come from a Financial Services background and MUST show experience leading enterprise level businesses through large scale and complex projects.

This role will require on-site presence.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Storage & Backup Engineer, you will:

1. Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level storage & backup solutions.
2. Ensure 100% service uptime for global data protection.
3. Develop and execute multi-year technology roadmaps for storage innovation.
4. Automate repetitive tasks using Python, Ansible, and ServiceNow integrations.
5. Identify and mitigate cyber threats, ensuring rapid recovery solutions.
6. Collaborate with internal teams to enhance resilience, performance, and scalability.

Experience

To be successful, you should have:

1. 10+ years' experience in block, file, and object storage administration.
2. Expertise in backup solutions and data recovery strategies.
3. Deep knowledge of EMC, Hitachi, Dell, S3 object storage, and AWS.
4. Strong skills in networking, firewalls, and F5 load balancers.
5. Proficiency in scripting (Python, Ansible) for automation and orchestration.
6. Ability to engage with stakeholders and auditors in regulated industries.
