Main duties of the job

We'd like you to join us as a Senior Staff Nurse (Respiratory and Neurorehabilitation) at our Hothfield Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre in Kent. At Hothfield Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Neurological Centre we look after adults with a brain injury or other neurological condition. Job responsibilities

What you'll be working:

We're flexible, so you'll work a total of 37.5 hours per week, on a rota basis.

What you'll be doing:

  1. Acting as Primary Nurse, taking overall responsibility for the nursing input residents receive, through nursing assessments and care planning.
  2. Contributing towards MDT working, risk assessment management and a programme of ongoing clinical improvement.
  3. Providing written nursing reports for a range of statutory and clinical review processes.
  4. Work according to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines as a named nurse or key worker for a defined group of patients.
  5. Work and act as a key member of the team, supporting each patient with achieving their planned outcomes.
  6. To ensure a comprehensive assessment is completed for the patients/residents/clients to ensure a comprehensive person-centered assessment is completed for their pathway and care plan.
  7. Take charge of a designated clinical area.
  8. Ensure all clinical documentation is of a high standard and patient notes are maintained and filed in the appropriate way.
  9. Provide a highly specialised range of clinical interventions and knowledge of evidence-based models of practice relevant to the patients’/residents’ needs.
  10. Working autonomously with confidence and competence to provide a highly specialised and safe service to the patient.
  11. Adopt a flexible approach to hours of duty, in order to meet the needs of the service over a 24-hour period.

What you'll have:

  1. A current NMC Pin registration (RGN)
  2. A Legal right to work in the U.K.
  3. Up to date experience/knowledge of Respiratory and Tracheostomy care essential
  4. Experience of working within a neurorehabilitation setting
