My client is revolutionising the way analog circuits are designed. Based in the UK and growing with an already global presence they are quickly becoming one of the world’s leading semiconductor IP companies. Using their innovative core technology, they’re able to design analog circuits faster, to a higher quality, and on any silicon process. They are disrupting analog design methodologies that have been unchanged for generations and if you have that similar mindset with the desire to make an impact then play a part in their story.

I’m looking for an analog-knowledgeable Senior Staff FAE (Field Applications Engineer) to join the global Field Sales team. This is an exciting position for an ambitious, enthusiastic engineer with knowledge of, and a passion for, analog circuit design. Demonstrating the ability to discuss, analyse and identify solutions with their customers. You will have the opportunity to travel widely in support of their innovative analog IP portfolio and unique business model. Being a self-starter is critical for this role as well as being a good team player, preferably with practical experience of the sales process and supporting customers’ technical requirements in the field. However, an analog engineer or chip integration engineer with expertise in integrating analog IPs would also find this a valuable pathway into a field position.

The Role

1. Supporting sales with technical discovery calls / meetings matching customer needs with my client’s value propositions
2. Supporting customers with development and use of IP
3. Answering queries from prospects pre-sales
4. Assisting customers at shows or events
5. Acting as liaison between customer and engineering - Understanding customer requests & ideas; ensuring these are captured and fed back to engineering for consideration.
6. As a critical contributor in our sales team, you will work intimately with both the engineering and marketing teams, representing our technical capabilities and company ethos to the marketplace.

The Requirements

1. Past experience specifying and designing analog integrated circuits for modern SoCs on CMOS processes
2. Past experience/Knowledge of analog system level design and trade-offs for SoCs
3. An understanding of top-down design methodologies and flows for analog and digital design
4. Ideal candidate would already have FAE experience in the analog domain.
5. Knowledge of commonly used tools within the industry (Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor)
6. Must be comfortable dealing with customers and presenting technical subjects
7. Must have solid inter-personal and communication skills
8. Ideally have some experience with software or web (e.g., setting up support tools or customer portals such as Bugzilla, Jira)
9. Must be a “self-starter” with initiative and capable of managing their own work in their own time zone
10. Domestic and international travel will be required

Even better if:

1. Macro-level experience: integration, verification and tape-out
2. Experience of presenting technical seminars & workshops
3. Packaging knowledge (CSP, BGA, etc.)
4. Knowledge of SoC design process
5. Experience/Knowledge of how analog circuits and macros are integrated into a complex SoC/ASIC.
6. Experience performing analog top-level tapeout is a plus.
