My client is the UKs largest independent national provider of specialist installation and maintenance services for wet and dry risers. They work nationally on all kinds of projects, from a small care home in Scotland to a 50-storey luxury apartment block in Central London. They operate two independent companies both based in the North West and operate nationally. They are actively looking for a Senior Dry Riser Engineer to join their well-established team of engineers. Your role will be to carry out dry riser system inspections, testing and repairs on a vast variety of buildings and structures across the UK in a safe and professional manner, checking and reporting compliance against established industry standards so that required certification can be provided to the client.

They work with end users such as: Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, Amazon, Liverpool Football club, Rolls Royce, Marks and Spencer, Sainsbury, Heathrow Airport, housing associations, councils, FM national providers as well as small businesses and local SMEs.

This role is an Engineering role with development into a more senior role as they expand over the next 12 months to 2 years. They are part of a larger FM group of 20 companies. They have some strong USPs and excellent service level relationships that they have held for nearly 20 years without losing clients.

***Please note you can be based anywhere within the UK and will be provided with a company vehicle but the clients you will be looking after will be either around the Kent area of Bath/Bristol/Reading/Portsmouth***

Key Accountabilities:

1. To undertake physical test inspections against agreed work orders from clients, undertaking multiple jobs during the course of each working day.
2. Operating and running the test pump or servicing the outlet valves on the dry riser system, opening and closing them and spraying with lubricants, as required.
3. Using standard forms and checklists, produce reports for each site and system tested so that the required certification can be produced internally and processed by management to provide to the client.
4. Correctly identify any remedial or repair works required using technical knowledge and a deep understanding of British Standards. Accuracy and attention to detail is important for this activity given that the information provided will be used to generate certifications, quotations and/or undertake follow up work.
5. Accurately complete all Company paperwork including job sheets, schedules and timesheets and ensure these are returned to the office-based team in a timely manner.
6. To undertake all work in a diligent and professional way, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction at all times.
7. Working in a team and professionally communicating with clients, management and other third-party individuals.
8. Maintain and audit vehicle and equipment to a high standard, driving carefully and respectfully at all times.

Job Context:

1. Working with Service Manager and fellow service engineers to complete works accordingly.
2. Reports to the Service Manager, who in turn reports to the Managing Director.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

1. Strong and proven practical hands-on experience in similar engineering industry (fire suppressant/dry or wet risers).
2. Relevant technical qualification.
3. Customer facing experience in a field-based service environment.
4. Good planning, communication (verbal and written) and organisational skills.
5. Full UK driving licence.
