The Role

As a Senior Planning Lawyer, you will join a dynamic team advising on high-profile projects across the UK. Working with clients from diverse sectors, including residential, commercial, infrastructure, and environmental industries, your role will involve:

1. Providing strategic advice on large-scale developments and nationally significant infrastructure projects.
2. Drafting and negotiating complex planning and highway agreements.
3. Managing compulsory purchase orders and guiding compensation matters.
4. Advising on Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), Habitats Regulations Assessments (HRAs), and other regulatory considerations.
5. Supporting judicial reviews, appeals, and planning inquiries.
6. Collaborating with colleagues across departments to deliver integrated legal solutions for real estate and infrastructure clients.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

1. Be a qualified solicitor with 4+ PQE in Planning Law.
2. Possess experience with relevant legislation (e.g., Town & Country Planning Act).
3. Have a strong track record with compulsory acquisitions, compensation claims, EIA/HRA, and judicial review processes.
4. Demonstrate excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to manage complex work efficiently.
5. Be proactive, solutions-focused, and capable of delivering value to clients.
