Senior Solicitor - Large Loss (Hybrid)

We are delighted to be working with a prestigious UK law firm seeking a highly skilled Senior Solicitor to join their Large Loss Team in Belfast. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-value, complex High Court cases, including catastrophic injury claims.

The Role:

As a Senior Solicitor, you will:

• Assist the Lead Lawyer in handling multi-million-pound catastrophic injury cases, including brain, spinal cord, amputation, and fatal injury claims.
• Manage your own caseload of high-value claims (£100k-£250k), including casualty and motor claims.
• Provide strategic legal advice on indemnity, liability, quantum, and causation issues.
• Conduct forensic analysis of medical and liability evidence, preparing chronologies and identifying key issues.
• Liaise with senior claims handlers from long-standing insurance clients, ensuring excellent client service.
• Draft pleadings, applications, witness statements, and technical advice.
• Instruct counsel, attend conferences, JSMs, mediations, and court hearings.
• Support the training and development of Legal Assistants and Paralegals.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:

• Qualified solicitor or proven relevant legal experience is essential.
• Strong experience in indemnity, liability, and quantum.
• Experience handling cases involving complex medical issues is preferred.
• Proven critical thinking and quantum analysis skills.
• Ability to manage high-value claims and engage with insurer clients.
• Excellent technical skills, analytical ability, and attention to detail.
• Track record of meeting performance targets while delivering high-quality work.
