Job Title: Senior Software Engineer

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Edinburgh

Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based

A Senior Software Engineer will design, develop, test and implement efficient solutions that meet business and customer requirements.

About the role

  1. Develops complex solutions within own area of technical expertise.
  2. Carries out impact assessment of complex changes to existing applications.
  3. Documents and agrees design in advance and to agreed standards.
  4. All code meets Group standards, guidelines and quality gates for given technology.
  5. All code is thoroughly tested to ensure any issues are identified as early as possible, working closely with the test team.
  6. Will safely implement solutions to production environment(s).
  7. Collaborates closely with other members of the team.
  8. Contributes to software development practice by sharing ideas and experience.
  9. Will review of others' work.

About you

  1. Experience with .NET is essential
  2. Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud is highly preferred
  3. Technical knowledge of one or more programming languages.
  4. Can work without supervision.
  5. Ability to work as part of a team.
  6. Good understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
  7. Awareness of agile development practices.
  8. Familiar with automated testing techniques and frameworks.
