Salary: £56,250 - £63,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights. If based in London you will also be entitled to receive London Weighting.

Job Introduction
We're looking for a senior social media manager, who has a love of music and radio to join our team. You will be leading social media teams, running high profile channels at scale and have experience of working with music artists, broadcasters, creators, or music labels to reach audiences. You will help with our planning, strategy, and telling the story of your work to internal and external audiences. You will develop multiple tactics to engage with younger audiences and help them discover radio, podcasts and music on BBC Sounds and iPlayer.
You will be joining a busy, creative team using short form video designed to help audiences in the spaces where they spend their time consume more content from the BBC. You could be leading campaigns to amplify the Proms, Glastonbury, a new music stream or a radio breakfast show. This role sits in the BBC Radio central social media team that runs accounts, commissions video, visualises radio moments, and edits and optimises content for channels that reach tens of millions every week.
Main Responsibilities
• Provide leadership for a portfolio of radio networks social media output and run multiple channels.
• The line management of a team of social media managers and execs.
• Commission and oversee the delivery of content from multiple suppliers to ensure that we are set up to succeed with our ambitious social growth plans for 2025.
• Be responsible and sign off the editorial output of your teams subject to the BBC's guidelines.
• Work closely with multiple stakeholders including the Heads and Editors of your respective radio networks to align priorities and report back on activity and performance as required.
• Establish editorial best practice for the networks' social presences and leading the adoption of these practices with your team.
• You will champion innovation, closely monitor platform changes, and ensure your teams are prepared for change that helps with short- and medium-term growth.
• Provide creative planning and idea generation for key radio shows, live music events and radio and Sounds and network campaigns.
• Create paid creative briefs working with our marketing and media planning team to ensure our off-air paid campaigns are aligned with social media activity.
