Senior Scrub Theatre Practitioner
The Portland Hospital
Full time 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: Monday to Sunday, Early (0730-1600), Late (12.30-2100) and long days (0730-2100)
On calls: 1 week every 8-9 weeks

We are looking for a Senior Scrub Theatre Practitioner to join our Theatre department. The Portland Hospital is currently rated “Good” by the CQC and is part of the established leading private healthcare company, HCA Healthcare.

The Portland Hospital is the only private hospital in the UK dedicated to the healthcare of women and children, caring for over 40,000 children a year with a team of over 175 paediatric consultants.

As the only fully private maternity hospital in the UK, we deliver over 1,600 babies a year, focusing on providing safe and high-quality care for expectant mothers.

The theatre team comprises of Consultants and Practitioners with vast experience across a range of specialties, including Gynae & Obstetrics, general and paediatric surgery.

As a Senior Scrub Theatre Practitioner, you will work as part of a team to ensure a high standard of nursing care and safety for patients within the theatre unit. You will also contribute to maintaining an environment conducive to high standards of patient care, deputising when other staff are absent and demonstrating strong leadership skills.

What you’ll bring:

  1. Current HCPC/NMC Registration
  2. Post graduate experience in Theatres
  3. 2 years Scrub Operating Theatre experience covering a wide range of specialties
  4. Paediatric Cardiac Experience
