Senior Scenic Project Manager

Reports to: Operations Director

Job Summary:

The Senior Scenic Project Manager plays a critical role in delivering high-quality brand environments, set builds, and exhibition stands. This position requires a balance of technical expertise, logistical planning, and a creative mindset to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Accountabilities

1. Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of scenic projects, ensuring alignment with creative and technical requirements.
2. Provide technical, production, and commercial input to support project, account, and creative teams in proposal development.
3. Manage quoting, cost analysis, and budgeting, ensuring financial accuracy and value engineering where required.
4. Oversee fabrication processes, working with suppliers and internal teams to achieve the desired creative vision.
5. Interpret and develop design concepts, technical drawings, and material specifications in collaboration with creative teams.
6. With the support of Operations, report on required labour resources, including workshop teams, transport, crew resourcing, and site logistics to maintain project timelines.
7. Work closely with crew chiefs to ensure seamless construction and de-rig in the workshop and on-site.
8. Work with our Scenic Coordinator to cultivate strong supplier relationships and continue to maintain a high-quality and responsive supply chain.
9. With the support of our Health and Safety team ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, including risk assessment, RAMS preparation, and adherence to CDM, HSE, and EHO standards.
10. Maintain an awareness of low impact materials and practices, advising on alternatives where possible.
11. Stay informed on industry trends, materials, and fabrication techniques to drive innovation and efficiency.
12. All other duties appropriate to the role.

Skills & Experience

1. Proven scenic project management experience on large and complex builds.
2. Strong budgeting and cost control expertise.
3. Highly proficient in logistics, construction, and technical production for global event delivery.
4. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, able to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
5. Decent understanding of AutoCAD, Vectorworks, and other industry-standard software.
