About The Role

Aurora Insights, part of Akabo Media, is a Research and Intelligence agency within the Supply Chain, Robotics and Automation and Tolling industries.

We provide valuable business insights and content through our monthly subscription service (this includes a monthly executive summary, podcast, literature review, bibliography and more), full 60-page reports and consultancy.

The Senior Research Associate plays a pivotal role in shaping research strategies, methodologies, and deliverables as well as contributing to the strategic vision of Aurora Insight’s projects and business direction.

They are responsible for conducting in-depth data analysis, interpreting findings, and generating actionable recommendations that address key business challenges and opportunities.

They are also involved in determining project priorities and actively participating in Aurora Insights research operations, ensuring the smooth execution of projects and the successful achievement of research objectives.

Additionally, they will contribute to the mentorship and learning of junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the research team.

Responsibilities

1. Research Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to define research objectives, scope, and methodologies for projects.
2. Data Sourcing: Collect, examine, and clean raw data from various sources, including interviews, presentations, conferences, and surveys from Akabo Media's exhibitions and events.
3. Qualitative and Quantitative Research: Conduct both qualitative and quantitative research methods to gather and analyze data effectively.
4. Data Analysis: Utilize mathematical, statistical, and analytical models to identify patterns and trends in data, providing actionable recommendations for strategic growth and influencing business decisions.
5. Statistical Analysis Proficiency: Possess expertise in statistical analysis and proficiency in using software such as STATA to derive comprehensive insights and clean data.
6. Graphical Representation: Develop high-quality graphical representations of data, analyses, and learnings to enhance understanding and visualization.
7. Data Presentation: Compile information drawn from the data into succinct and clear findings presented in reports and presentations, facilitating decision-making processes.
8. Report Writing: Articulate data and translate information into concise, compelling reports that are easily understood by non-technical readers, maintaining accuracy and up-to-date factual information.
9. Presenting: Attend and present at conferences and events to stay connected with industry professionals and share insights.
10. Strategic Direction: Align research with the company's mission to drive innovation and maintain competitiveness. Develop research strategies for product development and market expansion.
11. Project Management and Operations: Plan, organize, and oversee research projects to align with strategic goals and timelines. Establish objectives, deliverables, and milestones to track and ensure timely completion.

Key Skills

1. Experience: Minimum 4 years’ experience in a research role.
2. Software Proficiency: Skilled in using analytical tools and software like Excel, Tableau, SQL, and other data visualization tools.
3. Programming: Familiarity with programming languages relevant to data analysis (e.g., Python, R).
4. Report Writing: Excellent writing skills to produce clear, concise, and comprehensive research reports.
5. Presentation Skills: Ability to present complex information in an understandable manner to various audiences.
6. Stakeholder Engagement: Proficient in communicating with stakeholders to understand their needs and present findings.
7. Leadership: Capable of leading research teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
8. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of research tasks, including data entry, coding, and documentation.
9. Time Management: Strong organizational skills to manage deadlines and ensure timely delivery of research outputs.
10. Innovative Thinking: Ability to develop new approaches and solutions to research problems.
