What You'll Do

You will design, build and support state-of-the-art rendering technology used to drive advanced character rendering forward in Epic, such as hair and cloth rendering, ray tracing, light transport algorithms, and general computer graphics techniques.

In this role, you will

• Work with the MetaHuman visual fidelity improvement content team (art) to support, guide, and implement advanced character rendering techniques.
• Work on rendering efforts to meet the technical goals determined by the MetaHuman organization in Epic and work closely with the Unreal Engine rendering team.
• Responsible for optimizing and improving advanced character rendering infrastructure systems including hair rendering, texture streaming, virtual texturing, mGPU, etc.
• Drive tools that go along with features and ensure they are usable and appropriate for artists and MetaHuman users across games and film.
• Help support external clients by identifying areas for improvement and designing/implementing solutions.

What we're looking for

• Development experience on commercially released video games or software for the games industry.
• Development of high end rendering technology for modern game engines.
• Programming languages: C/C++, HLSL, Visual Studio, Perforce.
• A solid understanding of rendering, light transport, computer graphics, ray tracing, path tracing, and other current rendering techniques.
• A solid understanding of performance and optimization techniques.
