Come and join our busy and friendly radiology department at London North West University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The post holder will be required to fully participate in the service provision, including all out of hours services.

Demonstrated expertise and knowledge in Radiology is essential, and candidates should hold a cannulating certificate. Specialty modality experience is required, although exceptions may be made for suitably outstanding candidates.

The role also requires good communication skills, multidisciplinary team working, and the ability to supervise and train other staff and students.

Main duties of the job

  1. Work within a team of radiographic and clerical staff within the Trust.
  2. Provide a high standard of expertise and care, leading areas of the department in the absence of the Modality Superintendent.
  3. Deliver a diagnostic imaging service in areas where trained, both in and out of normal working hours, and facilitate learning for students and less experienced staff.

Person Specification

Registration

  • Current HCPC Registration
  • BSc or equivalent in radiography
  • Attendance at relevant study days and courses.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience of A&E, theatre, and out of hours work
  • Good knowledge of all general aspects of radiography & evidence of CPD
  • Experience of teaching and training students and other new members of staff

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to teach & lead others
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to use initiative
  • Understanding of teamwork
  • Knowledge of QA testing
  • RPS Trained
  • Member of a specialist imaging group such as TIG, GIRSIG, or Association of Paediatric Radiographers

Salary: £42,939 to £50,697 per annum including HCA.
