Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a Tier 1 Property Services Contractor based in London. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled professional to manage planned and reactive refurbishments in the social housing sector. You will play a crucial role in overseeing the commercial aspects of a range of housing refurbishment projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage and oversee all commercial activities related to planned and reactive refurbishment projects in the social housing industry.
  2. Provide detailed cost management, forecasting, and reporting to ensure budgetary compliance.
  3. Work closely with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to negotiate contracts and manage variations.
  4. Prepare tenders, conduct valuations, and produce financial statements.
  5. Lead and mentor junior quantity surveyors, ensuring best practices in cost management and project delivery.
  6. Ensure projects are delivered in line with company policies and client requirements.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  1. A proven track record in a similar Senior Quantity Surveyor role, ideally within the social housing sector.
  2. Experience working on planned maintenance and reactive refurbishment projects.
  3. Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge with experience managing NEC and JCT contracts.
  4. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.
  5. Relevant qualifications (e.g., RICS or equivalent).
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve project goals.
