Job description

Danny Sullivan Group are searching for their next Senior Quantity Surveyor to be based in multiple locations, spreading across Reading, Iver and Shinfield.
This position is ideal for an experienced professional with a strong background in quantity surveying, excellent leadership abilities, and a proven track record of overseeing complex projects from start to finish. You will be instrumental in driving profitability while maintaining quality and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop accurate cost estimates and project budgets.
  • Monitor project expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and manage variances.
  • Advise on cost planning and procurement strategies to optimize project outcomes.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and administer contracts, including handling variations, claims, and disputes.
  • Ensure contracts align with legal, regulatory, and client requirements.
  • Provide expert guidance to project teams on contractual matters and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Oversee the tendering process, from document preparation to bid evaluation and supplier selection.
  • Negotiate terms with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favourable project outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Implement cost control measures to ensure projects stay within budget.
  • Prepare financial reports and forecasts, analysing performance against budgetary targets.
  • Identify project risks, including cost overruns and delays, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors, promoting best practices and professional growth.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and knowledge-sharing.
  • Lead by example, upholding professionalism, integrity, and excellence in all aspects of the role.
Experience/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in either Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field.
  • Demonstrable experience in Quantity Surveying with a record of working on complex construction projects.
  • Chartered status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS/CICES) is necessary.
