Qualifications

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Psychologist to join our integrated Mental Healthcare team at HMP Stocken, a category C training prison housing around 1056 patients, the majority of whom are aged between 21-40 years of age.

This role would suit an experienced Psychologist familiar with adult mental health presentations, neurodiversity, and complex trauma. The applicant must be familiar with trauma-informed approaches and working with patients who have a broad range of complex presentations. The applicant will be part of the Integrated Mental Health Team and will be an integral part of the clinical leadership team supporting the development of the psychological therapies service; they will also manage 2 Assistant Psychologists.

Hours

This role is part-time, working 22.5 hours/3 days per week, Monday to Friday; we are flexible regarding which days are worked.

Salary

This position is a part-time position working 22.5 hours per week, offering up to £61,190 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a qualified, HCPC registered Psychologist, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Offer clinical support and oversight to the Integrated Mental Health Team (IMHT) in the form of training, supervision, and reflective practice
  • Undertake psychological assessments and support complex multi-disciplinary formulations
  • Deliver and oversee the delivery of 1:1 psychological interventions and group intervention as part of the Trauma Informed 'Making Sense' Programme
  • Deliver teaching and training to healthcare and prison staff where required
  • Contribute to the development of audit, service evaluation, and research profile as appropriate

Qualifications required

  • Full HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist
  • Proven experience in Clinical/Forensic or Counselling Psychology
  • Experience working with Forensic Mental Health patients
  • Experience working with psychological Trauma
  • Excellent communication skills
