Job description

Are you a Senior Project Planner looking for a change of Sector and keen to explore nuclear?

You will be part of our prestigious project to build a new nuclear power station Sizewell C, on the East Suffolk coast which will supply 6 million homes with low-carbon electricity. Sizewell C will play a key role in the energy transition and will be one of the biggest Net-Zero projects in the UK.

We are looking for a Senior Project Planner to join the team on our project Sizewell C, based in Leiston Suffolk, for our Expanded - The UK leader in Reinforced concrete basement, sub and super structure frame construction.

This role will oversee the scope of the Enabling Works and Earthworks, including the design, planning, procurement, and execution of some of the early SZC civils scope such as SSSI Crossing, ground improvements, dewatering, diaphragm walls, sea defence, marine bulk import facility (MBIF), beach landing facility (BLF), construction drainage outfall, and bulk Earthworks.

Role and Responsibility
  • Provide leadership for the planning and coordination processes.
  • Implement and maintain the requirements of the Project Business Plan.
  • Ensure that all programmes are compliant with the Project requirements.
  • Develop and agree by collaboration a logical sequence of events ensuring that the most economical/advantageous construction strategy is adopted.
  • Analyse performance and advise the project team of likely impact and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure that the construction strategy and any recommended improvements are communicated.
  • Provide leadership, support and training, and contribute to career development.
  • Coordinate for stakeholders, partners and supply chain all time-related information.
  • Represent the project/business with all stakeholders.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities and tasks as required by the project/business.
  • Develop and feedback process improvement.
  • Develop, maintain and update Contract Programme and Programme to Build in accordance with the project requirements.
  • Provide strategic programmes - tender, procurement, design, construction, short term.
  • Report on progress and issues with advice on mitigation.
  • Coordinate with internal customers - commercial, design, customer care and construction.
  • Responsible for the delivery of planning and coordination processes.
  • Liaise with client and other stakeholders.
  • Record and report on efficiency of labour.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or similar sector related.
  • CIOB Membership.
  • Experience leading the planning and controls function on a project (medium - high complexity).
  • Maintenance of programme and other time-related material.
  • Implementing robust project controls, accurate reporting, and forecasting.
