Job description

Stantec is working on many of the world's largest, complex and most exciting dams and hydro projects. Due to our ongoing success, we are rapidly growing and seek an experienced Project Manager to join our dynamic team, working on the design and development of cutting-edge dams, hydropower, and pumped storage hydro solutions. This role can be based anywhere in the UK.

It is a great opportunity to join a growing multi-disciplinary team involved in projects as varied and different as Coire Glas in Scotland, Koysha in Ethiopia, and Dinorwig in Wales, as well as supporting many of the UK water companies with inspections, remediation, and development of new dams and reservoirs.

We have developed a strong reputation within the sector as a leading, progressive, and forward-thinking consultancy, focused on delivering high-quality outputs to ensure the client achieves their outcomes and business benefits. Read more about our work at; Stantec Hydropower & Dams.

We are looking for a PM who can lead these often large, complex, and multi-disciplinary projects, often involving significant risk and the need to work with multiple stakeholders.

Your role will include traditional advisory, Owner's Engineer, client-facing concept design, contractor-facing detailed design, remediation and troubleshooting, installation support, and Lender's engineer / insurance / due diligence support. You will proactively lead the team to successfully deliver our objectives on time, to budget and to the appropriate quality.

This is an exciting opportunity for a project manager who is passionate about sustainable energy and eager to make a significant impact in the industry.

About You

You will be degree qualified and hold or be working towards an appropriate Project Management qualification such as APM's PMQ / ChPP or PMI's PMP.

You will have managed large hydropower projects or have demonstrable experience leading major complex water and/or energy sector projects (fees in excess of £500k on projects with a construction value well in excess of £10m).

You will be hands-on and foster great team dynamics and working relationships and be emotionally intelligent when it comes to your own, your team's, and your clients' feelings, concerns, and wellbeing.

You will bring extensive demonstrable core project management technical skills such as cost, schedule, risk, stakeholder, resource, and governance management.

Experience working within a contractor organization or on the consultancy side of large Design and Build projects would be advantageous but is not essential.

Most importantly, you will embody and support our values of client focus, designing with community in mind, collaboration, and service excellence.
